Detroit to NY VII
The primary reason I paint mostly Detroit architecture and automobiles it to show an industry that helped to shape our country with automobile productivity that lead to the creation of the greatest architecture in the world. This included magnificent movie theaters. The magnificent architecture that was once Detroit included styles such as Spanish Gothic architecture that is no longer popular or around today . The images of demolished movie theaters are a sad reminder. The Chrysler Building in New York City remains a testament to Walter P. Chrysler's success. The images of demolished movie theaters are a sad reminder. The recreation of these theaters and of automobiles that graced the streets and movies of a bygone era make this subject an interesting one. The automobile and architecture subject is challenging & nostalgic. The unusual perspective, exaggerated viewpoints and original style makes the subject challenging to portray and rewarding to me as an artist and collectors who appreciate it's subject.
