Artist Statement

My original training was in the history of culture and ideas. So when I first looked out at the world through a camera, I saw the aesthetic problems of the painter or sculptor rather than those of a photographer. Minimalism and Abstract Expressionism still guide my work. I am less involved in direct representation or narrative and more with the underlying forms and dynamics.
