CALL FOR ARTISTS - That DAM Box Show

May 25, 2010 | 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM

THAT DAM BOX SHOW2 will run August 10-20, 2010, with an auction event on August 20th.  This open call benefit exhibition and silent auction features art works made from film reel boxes.  All donated boxes will be exhibited and auctioned with proceeds to benefit the Detroit Artists Market.   This year’s boxes were provided by Wayne State University Library Systems. 

To all artists - pick up your box at DAM starting May 26th. Each artist will receive 1 film reel shipping box (size and shape may vary) and is expected to create something with it by decorating, embellishing, painting on, painting in, adding to, Subtracting from, or by any means you see fit.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER
AUGUST 3-7 :  DELIVER your finished boxes ready to hang or display
AUGUST 10 : EXHIBITION OPENS – Opening bid on all boxes is $25.00
AUGUST 20 : CLOSING RECEPTION – BIDDING ENDS AT 8:45PM
