DAM Annual Fund

Dear Friends,

Recently, a longtime friend of the Detroit Artists Market characterized it this way: DAM is not as much about a specific location or a particular person as it is about a great concept. This concept—to provide area artists with a place to show and sell their work, and to engage audiences who support that art —inspired us through another successful year. 

You have been a crucial part of that concept.  Whether you attended shows, purchased artwork, enrolled or renewed as a member, or sponsored an event, we appreciate your participation during this past year – thank you!  

We ask you now to make a difference in support of our mission – this great concept – with your charitable contribution to the DAM Annual Fund. 

 

DAM’s Annual Fund contributions work directly to produce our full schedule of compelling exhibitions.  DAM exhibitions and events provide hundreds Detroit area artists the opportunity to show and sell their work, giving emerging and established artists the visibility and audiences they deserve.  As a nonprofit gallery, DAM puts a much higher percentage of revenue in artists’ pockets and acts as a powerful driver of Detroit’s creative economy.

Your Annual Fund contribution also provides Metro-Detroit residents, students and visitors a venue where they can experience and learn about contemporary art in a welcoming and relaxed setting. The Detroit Artists Market provides all of this free to the community.  Your Annual Fund contribution makes this possible.

We want to keep the momentum going and be sure you are part of celebrating our 80th anniversary in 2012.  Please take this moment to reaffirm  your commitment to DAM and to supporting local art.  We have a few suggestions to make giving even easier and more effective:

• We urge you to consider establishing an automatic monthly payment, which allows you to give a little each month for big results each year.  Just $20 a month brings $240 to support DAM’s programs and exhibitions.  $50 a month, which is only $12.50 a week, generates $600 in a year to bring you the best of our community’s visual art.  Your bank can easily help you set this up, or contact us for further assistance.
• Contribute online via Network For Good through our website—and again, consider setting up a monthly contribution for greater impact. www.detroitartistsmarket.org
