DAM announces this CALL FOR ENTRY to artists to submit work for consideration for the DAM Small(er) Show .  The DAM Small(er) Show runs August 5 - 27, 2011 and will include work in all media and disciplines by DAM members. Each artwork no larger than 8” x 8” x 8” and retail price no more than $ 250.00. Description

The DAM Small(er) Show will include work in all media and disciplines by DAM members.

No larger than 8” x 8” x 8” and retail price no more than $ 250.00. The exhibition will be installed salon style and sales will be cash-and-carry, therefore all of your work may not be hanging for the entire exhibition.

Entry Procedure

• Complete all parts of the application form.

• Note that “Retail” price includes DAM’s 1/3 commission.

• Submit a disc with up to 12 digital images representing the scope of your work.

• Digital images are to be submitted on a Windows capable CD. JPEG format files are preferred.

• Keep files to a maximum size of 1.5MB,  and 300 dpi.

• Be sure your image file names do not have special characters like quotation marks or slash marks. File names need to be as follows:  Name_art title_entry letter (A-L).jpeg

• Include a reference sheet with thumbnails of images, dimensions, medium and retail price of each submission.

• Label the CD with the artist’s name and email address.

Entry Fee

To be considered as an exhibiting artist in the DAM Small(er) Show, your membership must be current. Please see below for the list of memberships and cost. Cash, check, or credit cards are accepted. Please make all checks payable to the Detroit Artists Market.

• July 1, 2011 - Postmark deadline for entries

• July 9, 2011 - Jury results mailed to artists

• July 20-23, 2011 - Accepted artwork delivered

• August 5, 2011 - Opening Reception

• August 27, 2011 - Closing day of show

• August 30-Sept 1, 2001 - Pick up any unsold artwork

Eligibility

The DAM Small(er) Show is open to all DAM members 18 years and over. Only original works accepted. No commercial kits,  prefabricated models, hobby crafts, or green ware. All prints submitted for jury must be from originals only. New and innovative work is encouraged. DAM reserves the right to reject any entry which is unsuitable in size or fragility, does not meet the guidelines specified,  or is not representative of work juried. DAM reserves the right to control artist inventory for an appropriate mix of work during the run of the show. As this is a cash-and-carry show.

Presentation

Artwork must be prepared in a professional manner for installation. DAM reserve the right to remove any artwork not accurately represented by submitted digital images.

Commissions

The DAM retains 1/3rd (33.33%) commission on all sales. Payments to artists will be no later than 30 days after the close of the exhibition.

Every precaution will be taken to assure protection of the work; however the Detroit Artists Market is not responsible for loss or damage.
