I have found that the aging process is very much like regaining a child's perspective between mind, hand and paper. A certain freedom and spontaneity returns. A more robust sense of self comes with life experiences. In non-objective work, which I prefer, I can face the canvas like a puzzle. What to put where, that is the real joy. No less is my love of drawing the human form. There is such variety. To take muscle, soft flesh, the line and curve of the body, and bring the life and energy you are seeing to paper is magical.
