Join us on Saturday, August 27 for DAMICON, a celebration of Detroit’s comic book culture and a tribute to the artists featured in DAM’s exhibition, Inspired by Detroit’s Comic Book Artists, on view through September 10. Exhibition organizer Tracy Irwin moderates a lively panel discussion with legends Dave Chow (freelance illustrator for General Motors, Meta/Facebook, and Kellogg’s), Arvell Jones (Thor, Ironman, Captain America), and Bill Morrison (Simpsons, Futurama, The Little Mermaid), along with veteran illustrator Michael Kucharski and up-and-comer Isabel Paul. There will be refreshments—including Faygo pop and Better Made chips—free drawings by Dave Chow, and some great merch from local comic book shops Vault of Midnight and Green Brain Comics!
